Camera Bags Are As Individual As the Photographers That Use Them
Both amateur and professional photographers prefer waterproof materials and an easily accessible SLR camera bag to something clunky or flimsy with no stability or just an open area in which there camera could get knocked around and possibly broken because camera equipment is very expensive even for amateur photographers.
Many photographers carry their camera and other photographic equipment almost everywhere they go because you never know when a great photograph will present itself. This is why a good, sturdy and accommodating camera bag is important to a photographer and the majority of them want something that has compartments because a place for everything and everything in its place is usually the photographer’s motto because sometimes, when a photograph presents itself to the photographer, it may be a fleeting moment to the photographer who may not have that much time to grab the camera and switch out the lens in order to get the perfect picture.
Many of the camera bag manufacturers are taking their cues from backpack designs and including room for a laptop or a small netbook in the camera bags because many photographers like to download their photographs immediately in order to see if there is something better they could do with a photograph or if there’s another angle they could come up with that people might like better or to simply see how the shot turned out without waiting to get home or back to the office first. Laptops also come in handy if the photographer is also a writer and must file a story to go along with the photograph.
Some photographers, if they can afford it, have different camera bags for different occasions and even have a camera vest or camera jacket for those times when they’re out in the ‘field’ like covering a parade or an outdoor sporting event in which lugging around a large camera bag, even the backpack style, would not be very sensible.
Most camera bags are sturdy and made of waterproof nylon wrapped around hardened foam in order to protect the expense of contents. But today’s manufacturers and photographers are also concerned about style.
