Poker can be a job and earn you money

My friend is part of a team of professional poker players. His job always appeals to me – I would love to be paid for playing games all day. I was chatting to him about it and he was explaining how it isn’t all about just playing and winning games. He explained that to him it is not playing a game it is more like going to the office as there is a huge amount of pressure to succeed which unlike playing games when it doesn’t matter that much if you win or lose, his income depends on him winning. He explained that it isn’t like having a job, where you tend to get paid whether or not you have a successful day. I found this really interesting, especially when he explained that he even has professional poker player management which keep him in the public eye, find him sponsorship and basically promote him so that he can afford to lay at the tournaments that he plays at. . It is just like him being a top sportsman where his reputation is being worked on all of the time so that he is in the public eye, gets celebrity status and earns extra money. I had no idea before that professional poker players had this sort of poker player managers which was fascinating to me I was asking him so many questions about it that he must have thought that I was interested in starting a career in it myself.
